Rising White House fear: Nunes memo is a dud
Source: Axios
Inside the Trump administration, sources who've been briefed on the Nunes memo expect it will be underwhelming and not the slam dunk document it's been hyped up to be.
What we're hearing: There is much more skepticism inside the administration than has been previously reported about the value of releasing the memo, according to sources familiar with the administration discussions.
Be smart: Trump still wants to release the memo. But there are a number of people in the White House who are fairly underwhelmed, and there's internal anxiety about whether it's worth angering the FBI director and intelligence community by releasing this information.

Perhaps relying on what Trump thinks about an idea isn't a good plan?

(12,344 posts)Trump didn't authorize the release, he just punted it back to the House. But Nunes knows he is dirty, and if he releases the memo, the FBI will go after him.

The faithful 35% will buy it, but it may hurt with independent voters.

(17,018 posts)Twitler and makes him look like a complete idiot. Being the vindictive bastard he is he will look to blame someone and that person will be Nunes. Since this is the second time Nunes has delivered a nothing burger, Twitler pressures Ryan to kick Nunes off the committee. In the mean time, Twitler has royally pissed off the FBI and our foreign intelligence allies motivating them to help put an end to this shit show.

(2,064 posts)Supposedly, several of the allied intelligence services have dossiers on Trump just as damning as Steeles work.
If this memo harms them or their friends in the bureau, I would not be surprised to see some major dirt leaked about Trump from multiple sources, too many to be discredited.

So much so that the hype was picked up by the M$M, giving the public the impression that there was another Clinton scandal happening.
When the actual news finally hit, it was always totally nothing. But the pubic's perception based on the hype remained.
