Breaking with tradition, Trump skips presidents written intelligence report and relies on oral briefings

By Carol D. Leonnig, Shane Harris and Greg Jaffe February 9 at 10:02 AM

For much of the past year, President Trump has declined to participate in a practice followed by the past seven of his predecessors: He rarely if ever reads the Presidents Daily Brief, a document that lays out the most pressing information collected by U.S. intelligence agencies from hot spots around the world.

Trump has opted to rely on an oral briefing of select intelligence issues in the Oval Office rather than getting the full written document delivered to review separately each day, according to three people familiar with his briefings.

Reading the traditionally dense intelligence book is not Trumps preferred style of learning, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

The arrangement underscores Trumps impatience with exhaustive classified documents that go to the commander in chief material that he has said he prefers condensed as much as possible. But by not reading the daily briefing, the president could hamper his ability to respond to crises in the most effective manner, intelligence experts warned.

Ooooh. I love using that word - so few chances otherwise.

I would suggest that the abbreviated, vetted, daily briefing just be interspersed in smaller font so as to not distract the poor dotard. Maybe even subliminally.

I'm sure the fux news organization wouldn't tamper with the contents of the briefing, especially after it had been blessed by vlad.

My favourite: the rolled up Forbes magazine in Sarah's left hand. Just don't try to imagine what she may be aiming to do with it. All funny in a black humour way, being as how hopeless I've felt the last year.

A president who chooses not to read, what could go wrong? Never required to think or work too hard while everything was/is handed to him -- what a coddled ass. I just can't shake the feeling that we're toast.

Remember how he was very proud of his so-called ability to make quick, snap decisions, rather than thinking about it and making measured ones?

He also took the whole month of August 2011 off. How he was essentially given a pass on 9/11 still baffles me.

No way has he the concentration and comprehension to read briefings. He can pretend to listen to oral ones while thinking of Gawd knows what! I'd hate to know what is in his so-called mind at any given time.

I wonder if he might have dyslexia or something along certain lines that led him to so dislike anything to do with reading. Part of his anti-intellectual thing may be an emotional cover for his inability to master more than rudimentary skills and rely on "street smarts' instead. then he would denigrate those who excelled at what he could not do.
