'Troll farm' head controlled Russian mercenaries in Syria: report

The wealthy businessman who allegedly tried to influence the U.S. election with St. Petersburg-based troll farm is also behind Russian mercenaries operating in Syria, according to U.S. intelligence reports.
Yevgeny Prigozhin, indicted by Special Counsel Robert Muellers meddling investigation last week, is also known as Vladimir Putins chef for his beginnings as a restaurateur with perceived closeness to the Russian president.
However, favors that he has done for the Kremlin go beyond the alleged trolling, according to assessments seen by the Washington Post which say he is almost certainly behind Russian nationals fighting alongside the forces of Syrian leader Bashar Assad.

However, excerpts of reports seen by the Post, based on intercepted communications, say that Prigozhin helped plan the attack on U.S. and U.S.-backed forces, in addition to discussing it with members of the Russian and Syrian administrations.
