Kushner's security clearance 'up to general Kelly,' Trump says

Source: Politico

By CRISTIANO LIMA 02/23/2018 02:58 PM EST

President Donald Trump said Friday the decision over whether to give Jared Kushner a waiver on his security clearance will be “up to” chief of staff John Kelly.

“That’ll be up to general Kelly,” Trump said during a press conference at the White House. “General Kelly respects Jared a lot and General Kelly will make that call. I won’t make that call.”

The president's son-in-law and senior White House adviser has been working on an interim security clearance since joining the White House in January 2017.

Trump added that Kushner has “done an outstanding job” despite having “been treated very unfairly” by outside groups.

He demands "loyalty" and "obedience." Down to even the words they use, much less their actions.

But I'm sure he'll blame Kelly or whoever, if anything is found to be done wrong.

Trump defers to Kelly for a solution. Of course I'm sure little Donnie has whispered in Kelly's ear what he wants the answer to be. Yep, little Donnie Trump is a big, brave boy!

The only one who can waive a requirement for a security clearance is the President.

Then what's he doing even being CONSIDERED for access to top-secret documents including the PDB?

If we don't have oversight of him, he shouldn't be eligible it, period.

Ivanka too!

Imagine if the Obama daughters had been adults in business; the wingers would have been furious if Sasha and Malia were getting passed official records by their father to benefit their companies.
