Sessions says Justice Dept. will investigate alleged FISA abuses

Source: The Hill

BY MAX GREENWOOD - 02/27/18 03:35 PM EST

Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Tuesday that the Justice Department will investigate potential abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act amid accusations by President Trump that Obama administration officials misused their authority to surveil his transition team.

Sessions told reporters at the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, which oversees FISA warrants, that looking into potential abuses is the "appropriate thing" to do, according to the Washington Examiner.

"Yes, it will be investigated," Sessions said.

It's not clear if Sessions has opened a formal investigation into the matter, but he noted that the Justice Department's inspector general would take up the matter.

was no violations but he's appeasing the orange-haired bombshell in the Oval Office. The DOJ's IG may come up with an undotted "i" or uncrossed "t" but, it won't be a big deal.

So much for the traditional independence of the Department of Justice. It looks like Donny Two Scoops was right when he became the first president to assert, "I have absolute right to do what I want to do with the Justice Department.”

Need serious jail time.

I want EVERYTHING on the table when Dems retake the House and Senate.

If this were a Dem doing this, the fucking media would be calling for public hangings.

the only way to fix this shit it WIN BIG and then GO LARGE.

Tax the ever-loving fuck out of millionaires and billionaires

Tax the ever-loving fuck out of corporations

Strengthen Unions and put the power back in the hands of the people.

I'd impeach the fucking hell out of every god damn judge Donnie Shit-for-Brains has put on the bench.

Flush all these turds and then upgrade everything.

Only thing I disagree with you on is taxing corporations heavily, unless loopholes are in place to encourage re-investment.

I'm all for a return to a progressive income tax. If the parasites and hoarders can't put it back into the economy they sucked it from, the taxman cometh to do it for them!

I just saw an old post you put up about Paula Jones. It was awesome.

We are having this "reckoning" right now where everyone turns on the Clintons and every horrible thing said about them is treated as true. Nobody remembers that Paula Jones made an identification of his genitals that was proven to be untrue. Or that she told the court that she suffered at work--where she got a promotion and raises--because she didn't get flowers on Secretary's Day.

And, of course, let's not forget the separate allegation that Bill Clinton murdered Kathleen Willey's husband--and her cat.

The Clinton are the most lied about people in History. There's a reckoning here now? Does it involve the #metoo movement? I don't think the Clintons are saints. I do think the great things they did should be taken into account with the bad, and their lives should be judged whole. For whatever the Clintons have done wrong they have received massive torment.

It is now considered acceptable to declare them guilty of everything.

It is especially popular to declare that Bernie was cheated out of the nomination in a rigged primary. No examples of how this happened are needed.

until I was blue in the face. I've challenged since those E-mails that came out for anybody to show me one where the outcome of an election was influenced other than those that are responses to Bernie attacks on the DNC. The only thing that I ever say was intervention was Donna Brazile offering debate questions. One of those was obviously coming. It turns out Brazile became a hero of the it was fixed side. Crazy. And the media went right along with Assange's spin. The media did more damage than the Russians did.

with the Sanders or O'Malley campaigns? She implies that she wanted to give heads up on certain things to all the candidates.

The media did no follow-up whatsoever on what should have been a mega-story. And so most people didn't even hear about it.

That should have been followed up on. If it wasn't something bad about Hillary or Trump the media didn't have much interest in anything.

It is from 1999. It tells the story of Kathleen Willey--before we even got to the part where she alleged her husband and a cat were murdered.
