Breaking an almost all-day Twitter silence, President Donald Trump boasted to his online followers that he was happy with his appearance at the annual Gridiron Dinner and chalked it up as another one his administrations accomplishments.
Saturday night, Trump poked fun at himself at the televised forum, while also taking shots at his family members and his enemies alike.
On Sunday, Trump reviewed his performance and was pleased with how he handled himself.
-snip-
Trumps comedy turn comes after a week when his administration has been universally derided as chaotic.

(12,586 posts)Trump doesn't have private moments. That would require introspection, and being alone with his thoughts is Trump's worst fear.

(4,066 posts)Yes, it would be easier to laugh at him for meaning that. But why bother? We don't have to make up shit with all the stuff he does on his own.
In fact, I believe it makes us look stupid if we try to read it that way and say that's what he meant.

(22,380 posts)if none of his tweets were repeated or reported on. If they just sank into the void from where they sprang. Tweeting is not governing, and it is not how to stay in touch with "the American People". Ignoring him totally is even better than laughing at him.
I would so very much love that.

(4,066 posts)I agree with you 100% If it were possible to ignore him that would serve the country well.

(364 posts)Something good can come out of having such as an asshole as Donald Trump, if it doesnt end our democracy it may inoculate us. I actually believe his stupidity may be his saving grace, we are fortunate that he is only an apprentice despot and not a competent one.
