White House denies Trump had affair with adult film actress

The White House on Wednesday denied that President Trump had an affair with adult film actress Stephanie Clifford, who is aggressively pursuing legal avenues to free herself from a contract that prohibits her from talking about their alleged relationship.

“The president has addressed these directly and made very well clear that none of these allegations are true,” Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said during a White House briefing. “It has already been won in arbitration.”

Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen has acknowledged paying Clifford – who goes by the stage name Stormy Daniels - $130,000 to not discuss her claims of an affair with Trump.

The White House on Wednesday pointed to an arbitration hearing that took place in a Los Angeles court in late February. White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders claimed that Trump's lawyer won the arbitration and that the judge ruled the nondisclosure agreement with Clifford to be binding.

Stormy Daniels's lawyer mocks White House claim that Trump won at arbitration: ‘He also won the popular vote’

A lawyer for adult-film star Stormy Daniels mocked the White House for saying President Trump won an arbitration case with with the actress, jokingly saying “he also won the popular vote.”

During Wednesday’s White House press briefing, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters that Trump has already addressed allegations of an affair with Daniels and “made very well clear that none of these allegations are true.”

“This case has already been won in arbitration, and anything beyond that I would refer you to the president’s outside counsel,” Sanders said.

Daniels’s attorney, Michael Avenatti, responded to the White House claim to a reporter from The New York Times.
