Former Rep Artur Davis (Ala) Akin's comments 'could cost' Romney Missouri

Source: The Hill

Former Rep. Artur Davis (Ala.), who switched to the Republican Party after losing a Democratic primary in his home state's governor's race, said Akin won't win Missouri and that, by staying in the race, he could cost Romney the state, too.

...................

Davis said Akin had become a distraction and mistakenly said Obama had won Missouri four years ago.

"He's such an incredible distraction at this point. Republicans have such a wonderful chance to win Missouri — President Obama, I believe, won Missouri narrowly four years ago, the Missouri economy is not in good shape, Sen. McCaskill has voted pretty much in lockstep with President Obama and that's going to hurt her," he said.

"Well, if the next four months are spent talking about the remarkably dumb comments that Akin made a few days ago, that's certainly going to hurt the prospects for Republicans."

...but it should cost them much more than Missouri. It should cost them everything, every Senate seat, every seat in the House, every Presidential electoral vote. Akin's views are in line with the Republican platform, and with the VP nominee, and he should be dragging the whole party down with him. He didn't misspeak - he told the truth.

Expediency is quite common among politicians. This guy pretty much trumps all. Yes, An African American who sells out to this racist crowd is scum.

....For the gift that just keeps on giving.....No, President Obama narrowly LOST in the state of MO, but we would gladly accept the gift of MO going BLUE this time and for the re-election of Claire McCaskill. Now, if we could just get blunt to step on his pecker for the next round.

They are both concerned with winning, not serving the people.

As an Alabama Democrat I'm disgusted with Davis. What a tool. The sad thing is that he has no chance of winning in the Republican party here. They will pat him on the back and trot him out to speak but, trust me, they won't vote for him. Alabama is still Alabama.

It will serve him right. I guess he may be gunning for a nice Fox News talking head position.
