Special operators to anti-Obama group: Zip it

Source: Pilotonline.com

A group of retired special operations and CIA officers who claim President Barack Obama revealed secret missions and turned the killing of Osama bin Laden into a campaign centerpiece are coming under criticism from some of their own.

Some special operations officers say the activist veterans are breaking a sacred military creed: respect for the commander in chief.

"This is an unprofessional, shameful action on the part of the operators that appear in the video, period," U.S. Army Special Forces Maj. Fernando Lujan wrote on his Facebook page, to a chorus of approval from colleagues.

A Green Beret who returned last year from Afghanistan, Lujan says that attaching the title of special operator with any political campaign is "in violation of everything we've been taught, and the opposite of what we should be doing, which is being quiet professionals."

I'm willing to bet that if one was to drill down into these "special operators", one would find that they were/are niether "special" or "operators."

How many rw war heroes have been discovered to have either never served or didn't do what they claim to have done? ... Yeah, Jesse Kelly (rw nut job contender for AZ-CDO2) ... I'm talking about you.

You said it perfectly...I've been thinking the exact same thing.

"Some special operations officers say the activist veterans..."

We would need names, faces and history to really know how many actual "veterans" are involved.

I wonder how many were actually discharged dishonorably vs. honorably.

Back in the 1990s, one of my cousins graduated from Annapolis and was accepted into the SEALS. He was stationed down in Virginia Beach. I think he might have been attached to Team 6, but I no longer remember. Anyway, he never spoke, or speaks, about any of his assignments. At a family gathering he might mention that he had just gotten back from Malaysia or expected to go to Indonesia in a few weeks. That was about it. Oh, he might tell a funny story or two but that was about it.

And I have know plenty of military folks wax hour upon hour on the dangerous, special, super-secret missions that they were directly involved in ... where the mission and their actions sound far more like the screen-play of an action movie.

I have concluded that in most areas of life, those that do special (dangerous/heroic/extraordinary) things; do it and move on ... Those that wish they had, talk about what they wish they had done.

And I have to say that if it was a Republican who was president at the time bin Laden was killed, they would be rubbing it in our faces. And I have not seen this from Obama---no Mission Accomplished banners. He has always credited the military and the men who were on that mission.

The funny thing about this whole "swiftboat" aspect of the "special operations and CIA officers" ad is I never once have heard President Obama say "I" did this or "I" did that. He has giving ALL the credit to the Spec Ops members and his military staff. He has never take the credit for it, He has given American the news everyone wanted to hear. Now to turn the tables, if and (thankfully it didn't) this operation had failed, then everyone would have jumped on him.... so Damned if he does and Damned if he doesn't......

Which is why we see so little criticism of this. The swiftboaters are completely out of line... but to criticise them publicly would also be out of line. It's a tough dilemma.
