Pigs are intelligent, loving, even thoughtful creatures - and are faithful companions besides (my great-grandfather raised pigs; but he kept a few as pets for that reason).

Cheeto has the kind of vile egomania only us humanfolk are capable of.

They are damned smart and easily trained, but NEVER teach a piglet how to dive. Into your backyard pool. Off the diving board. When Faru reached 450 pouunds, the water bill went skyrocketing! 🐷🐷🐷

$Trumpet is more like a sea slug.

Oh, damn. I just insulted sea slugs.....

It brightened up my day just to picture Faru. Thank you!

A former neighbor of mine had a Miniature pot-bellied pig, which he walked on a leash. Cutest little thing you've ever seen.

Pet pigs? I'll drink to that!

Fair or not, pigs are a symbol of dirty greedy beings. Having lived in the country and seen wild boars tear up my pastures every Spring, I saw why they have that reputation. They root with their noses thru the mud digging up roots and beetle larvae for food. They wallow in the mud, and they eat garbage. They are also very aggressive.

I lived near Denton, TX, some years back, and heard stories like that from people with farms and ranches outside town. There seemed to be no real way to control those hordes.

A little like corporate lobbyists.

and the fact that much of what they eat is underground, forcing them to dig in the dirt.

If you've ever been around a free-range pig, you'd be surprised at how little they actually smell. But yes, their poop smells like human poop because they are omnivores like us.

Been doing a study about pigs for the last few years and have grown quite respectful of them as intelligent animals who are, alas, sometimes too similar to us. In a bad way.

They evolved to root for grubs and grass rhizomes. And yes they wallow to cool down. But those are the characteristics that make some people to consider then dirty and greedy. That they are omnivores that eat garbage and refuge is why they are considered unclean by Jews and Muslims. Humans are also omnivores. And some humans dumpster dive for food. I'm a Buddhist. I like all animals. I would never hunt wild boar, even though they tear the crap out of my pastures in the Spring.

have eyes like a pig, small and squinty. I agree the comparison is insulting to pigs. Pigs can be cute, tRump is repulsive. Not surprising that he has to pay women, unless it is because the kind of women who have to be paid are the most attractive to him? Cuts out the need to be charming, or even gentlemanly. Just go after the paid women, who will take anything for the right price, even him.

After Nixon, came Ford and Carter, who did some restoration.

After Reagan came Bush, Sr. and Clinton, and the pendulum once again swung back.

After Cheney (dba Bush Jr.), came Obama, and the presidency made a spectacular recovery.

But at some point, an inflicted wound is so deep as to be mortal. I hope the searing ugliness inflicted upon our nation with the Trump presidency will not turn out to be that fatal wound from which our system of government cannot recover.
