U.N. Leader Will Attend Iran Summit Over American and Israeli Objection

Source: NY Times

Despite objections by the United States and Israel, the United Nations announced Wednesday that Ban Ki-moon, the secretary general, would visit Iran next week to attend the nonaligned movement's annual meeting.

The decision, announced by Mr. Ban's spokesman, Martin Nesirky, at the United Nations, was a public relations victory for Iran, which has asserted that American-led efforts to marginalize the country over its anti-Israeli invective and defiance of Security Council resolutions over its disputed nuclear program are a failure.

Face to face Obama could bring peace to the middle east. If he is lucky to get a second term he should on unconditionally go to negotiate a peace deal. Enough wars. Go for peace.

... he could just that easily bring peace to Syria, but Obama has his sponsors to think of first. Peace is not their objective.

The rest of us are just bystanders.
