Trump Dodges Question After Calling Kim Jong Un 'Very Honorable'

Source: Talking Points Memo

By Caitlin MacNeal | April 24, 2018 1:33 pm

During a press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday afternoon, President Donald Trump ignored a question about his comment earlier in the day describing North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as “very open” and “very honorable.”

A reporter asked what Trump meant when he described the dictator as “honorable,” and in response Trump offered a defense of his negotiations with North Korea ahead of a face-to-face meeting with Kim Jong Un. “I hope that we will be able to deal in a very open and honorable fashion with North Korea,” he said, rather than addressing calling Kim Jong Un himself “open” and “honorable.”

Trump disputed claims that he has already made concessions to North Korea and said that he would like to see denuclearization by the isolated country. Then, after a long tangent about China and his trade policies, Trump said that he cannot predict what will come of talks with North Korea, again failing to answer the original question.

“So the end result is we’ll see. Maybe good things will happen, and maybe we’re all wasting a lot of time, but hopefully it will be good for everybody concerned,” Trump said.

Maybe that's what all the hacking from NK is about lately.
Trump is horrible at keeping secrets.

He just wants what he considers a political "win".

My guess is that he will offer to remove US troops from South Korea in exchange for a formal end to the war...regardless of how South Korea would feel about that.

He conducts PUBLIC executions, and the methods he uses are horrible - shooting people with antiaircraft guns is a favorite method.

What a dotard. He can't keep anything consistent. Whatever way the wind blows or whoever talked to him last - that's his opinion for the moment.

Not at all a decisive leader.

Cheeto's handlers told him if he got a question about N. Korea he was supposed to say we would handle it in an open and honorable fashion. He got confused when he was talking and the only thing he could think of when discussing the li'l dictator was to call him "open and honorable". One of the handlers got to him in a corridor or bathroom and reminded him of when he was supposed to use that term, so he used it correctly in the press conference. He is absolutely totally confused about who he is and where he is.
