Trump: 'KOREAN WAR TO END!'

Source: Mediate

by Aidan McLaughlin | 7:29 am, April 27th, 2018

President Donald Trump took to Twitter to celebrate news that the leaders of the two Koreas have agreed to end the Korean War, 68 years after it began.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in and his North Korean counterpart Kim Jong Un signed a declaration establishing peace between the two longtime foes, and pledging to work towards a complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

Then, inexplicably linked to another tweet issued Friday morning in which he decried former FBI director James Comey as “very sick or very dumb,” Trump added: “KOREAN WAR TO END! The United States, and all of its GREAT people, should be very proud of what is now taking place in Korea!”

Trump was pushing for a direct confrontation and the Koreans were going to be the cannon fodder along with the U.S. troops who he would sacrificed. Trump was instrumental in bring this about not because he was seeking a peaceful solution but just the opposite, total destruction that would have devastated the entire peninsula with tens of millions of deaths. Remember that people on both sides of the 48th are Koreans with a history that reaches back thousands of years and that blood is thicker than water.

That's what he wants people to think. He literally had nothing to do with it. But oh, boy, the claims he will make after the meeting - if he doesn't call it off. It'd probably be better if he called it off and left well-enough alone.

I have serious doubts, but if the two sides do find a way to live together and (especially) if our troops start coming home from Korea... then there is no possible way that Trump won't benefit from it.

Avoiding posting the words in a thread on DU won't have the slightest impact on the search engines... because it will be headlines in major papers.

Kim is playing games to get concessions, but meanwhile it's safe to say his new testing site is being built. Kim will not give up his nukes.

get the Nobel and not Trump. First, Trump is hated in Europe even though they might be taking these steps in fear of what Trump could do.

Kim's launch pads were destroyed by an earthquake a month or so ago. His underground nuclear facilities were destroyed--possibly R&D, manufacturing, and probably storage are ruined. It is too hot for clean-up. He has to make peace now. He has no choice. It has nothing to do with the dotard or his threats or anything at all. The pResident gets no props from me.

disappointment when it all comes crashing down around him. Kim is playing the long con once again, and will reverse course just as soon as he gets what he wants. Trump got lucky, though. Korea's nuclear testing mountain has collapsed, and they have to stop testing because the risks are too high. China would be on top of them so fast if there was a radiation leak across the border.

This was about 55 years overdue. I have to wonder if this is only being done b/c North Korea screwed up their missile testing site, though? Either way, excellent news!
