Trump breaks protocol, sends markets a clear signal on jobs report before numbers are released

Source: The Washington Post

By Damian Paletta
June 1 at 8:34 AM

President Trump on Friday broke with decades of protocol and commented publicly about the highly anticipated jobs report data 69 minutes before they were released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Treasury yields moved sharply higher within seconds of a Twitter post from President Trump that said he was “looking forward to seeing the employment numbers at 8:30 this morning.” He has never issued such a Twitter post before.

One hour and nine minutes later, the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced that 223,000 jobs were created in May, beating expectations, and the unemployment rate fell to 3.8 percent.

The jobs data come out once a month, and often can lead to massive buying or selling trends on Wall Street depending on how the information is received. It is extremely closely held and kept under tight control until it is released at 8:30 a.m. on the first Friday of each month. The Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers is traditionally given the report the day before it is released, and it can often be shared with the president after that time. But the president – and other administration officials – never tip their hand about what the numbers reveal.

The market is not terribly rational, and since the reaction is not completely predictable, PINO and his ilk really can't predict outcomes. (Even smart people really can't predict short term reactions.)

For instance, at some point if the UE numbers go too low, i guarantee that some portion of the analysts and professional investors will react badly because of inflation and wage increase concerns.

That would be opposite effect of what a "leak" like this would be done to foment.

Lastly, i don't think anybody in the cabal is that clever.

If the Democrats are unable to convince their base that the future of the nation is at stake, Thump will be so embolden that there will no bounds to his abuse of power. Those Republicans who can't support his corruption of government are abandoning the political scene. What is left is the most radical party in recent history in control. Trump knows that he will be supported regardless of his malfesence in which he and his family are grossly abuseing the office to enrich themselves. They are saying get used to it. What the hell are you going to about? This is the situation and the future is very much up for graps if the Democrats don"t prevail. Who is going to suffer the most. It will be the poor and especially the minorities becasuse they will gut every progressive program. Then they will go after the big ticket items, Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid solely on the basis to cut spending witch the engineered by passing a massive tax cuts for the wealthy. What is really sad about the situation is that the working class has been so brainwashed by the right-wing media that they don't can't comprehend they are cooperating in their enslavement.

If the GOP holds onto the Congress it would likely be by a thin margin and the focus would shift to 2020
where the talk would be the Democrats were oh so close to getting power if only...................................

That's the secret to keeping power. By keeping the Democrats hoping that they can win in the next election
cycle if only they don't make a mistake or come off as radical by being too progressive or too aggressive against Trump.

The GOP wants to blow up the debt to such a degree that the Federal Government will be on the verge of collapse
when they finally hand the reins of power back to the Democrats who would have to be the bad guys and make the
cuts themselves just to keep basic operations of the Federal Government open.

That's the long-term plan. Meanwhile, they will load up the Federal bench and Supreme Court with hardcore conservatives
who would work with the hardcore Tea party/Trump minority factions in Congress to block any Democratic attempts to
raise taxes on corporations and the wealthy, leaving them no choice but to gut the social safety net themselves
while the GOP can come back in 8 years saying "It wasn't us who took your social security. It was the Democrats
because of their spending and give away of your hard earned tax dollars to those blacks and Latinos for their votes."

That's the ultimate aim of these guys.

The Democrats if in power can simply correct the situation with a comprehensive tax reform bill that taxes the wealthy at the proper rate. You are saying the Republicans long term plan is to lose the election and then watch the Democrats not take proper action to reduce the debt? They are not about to "hand the reins" to the Democrats. Just how do the judicial branch stop the congress from raising taxes on the rich? Really.

But we've never had a President like this...until now. We have to do something about this...now.

Does anyone besides me think it's possible a few billionaire buddies are getting phone calls late at night?
Or some pals are chatted up on a Florida golf course on any given weekend?

The SEC needs to put a microscope up this criminal's ass...now.
