Avenatti Sought Legal Funding From Democratic Operatives

Stormy Daniels lawyer Michael Avenatti sought legal funding from major Democratic operatives, according to a Friday New York Times report.
Avenatti personally contacted Bradley Beychok, president of the progressive PAC American Bridge, in March, reportedly seeking $2 million to help with the assorted legal costs of Daniels case. Beychok declined, officials at American Bridge deciding that the case was not a good use of their funds.
Avenatti reportedly said that he may have contacted Mr. Beychock, but that we have not sought any money from anyone on the right or the left.
Unnamed sources also told the Times that members of Avenattis law firm had reached out to two people connected to Democratic donors, but that those conversations did not result in any money either.

(37 posts)Also, he's just distracting from Mueller. I have faith Mueller is going to get to the bottom of everything and Stormy and Avenatti can take a hike.

(13,133 posts)Less attention to an investigation is probably a good thing especially if one is working under a white-hot light of scrutiny. The more legal action the better and doubly when pursuing those operating who think they are above it.

(3,050 posts)I dont think happens without Avenatti. Locking these bastards up in lawsuits from every angle is an effective strategy to get the truth out. Congress needs to be flipped Democratic this year! In the meantime-suing the hell out of them.

(3,192 posts)The gist of it was he declared bankruptcy over a $28k debt his law firm owed. Coincidentally, at the same time a former partner was suing the firm for millions. And the $28k was being sought by a guy who'd supposedly been retained as a private investigator into the Pulse shooting in Orlando.
The supposed investigator was a Florida ex-con with a rap sheet 15 pages long. He couldn't discuss anything with CNN because of a non-disclosure agreement. He did say that he wasn't and isn't a private investigator, though.
That's what I recall from reading it once. Who knows what to believe anymore, though? I guess it's possible that while he's doing a good thing by keeping the heat on Trump, Avenatti himself isn't a knight in shining armor. But it could just as easily be a hit piece attempting to get him to back off. You can't rule out anything with Trump's crowd.

(32,639 posts)... and this is taking a long time to play out. I'm sure Avenatti has run up some big expenses in the meantime. It only makes sense that he's looking for help until the case gets settled. Maybe he's getting some $ for TV appearances, but it can't be that much.
I thought they had a crowdsourcing campaign going, and a lot of Dems were kicking in.

And ck THIS:
How a 'nobody' ex-con pushed Avenatti law firm into bankruptcy

This article seems a bit skewed against Avenatti. However, there are just too many coincidences and too much dirt here.
Avenatti's a brilliant political scoundrel with some dirty legal maneuvers. But I'm glad he's on OUR side, fighting however he can. He's our little 😈
Still, the dishonesty is most troubling.
Ever ck out his wiki page? It's quite impressive!

(3,192 posts)I summarized it further up the thread. It made me think Avenatti might not be such a nice guy. It also made me think it could be a hit piece, given that nothing is too low for the Trump cabal.
Still, he's fighting the good fight against Trump on this one. If his motive is a fat payoff, that's hardly shocking for an attorney.

(12,618 posts)You think if the situation wasn't reversed the right wouldn't have an army of billionaires and millionaires funding the opposition? I would proudly give this man money. Democrats should stop always trying to take the damn high road and start learning how to fight.
