Trudeau on Trump tariffs: 'I don't know' what he wants to accomplish

Source: The Hill

BY JUSTIN WISE - 06/01/18 05:53 PM EDT

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is ripping President Trump over his steel and aluminum tariffs against Canada and other trade allies, saying he does not understand what Trump is trying to accomplish.

In a "Meet The Press" interview clip released Friday, Trudeau pointed to the $2 billion surplus on steel the U.S. has with Canada.

"The reason I don’t know [what he wants] is because he’s talked about the fact that he’s worried about trade surpluses, trade deficits around the world," Trudeau said. "Well they have a 2 billion surplus on steel with us. So it’s not like trade is imbalanced against the U.S. favor on us."

Canada on Friday filed a case against the U.S. at the World Trade Organization over the tariffs, which it said undermine “the integrity of the global trading system.”

1. He likes to fight -- about anything. (He has stated that.)

2. He wants to be the center of attention.

3. He wants to be the boss.

4. Parts of his mental and emotional development never matured.

5. His random unstable brain oscillates between 1 & 2 above.

Then, of course, there's his Jim Crow faction.

To get their applause, he disappears brown babies.

7. It does seem to be his only goal

still playing by Steve Bannon's crazy agenda. Cause as much turmoil and upset you can. Then I gather, pick up the scraps that are left after most of the poor have died off with no safety nets, the justice institutions have been discredited and untrusted, industry environmental regulations are no more, as well as taxes for anyone that earns over a million. Minimum wage is down to 0.

And then those that are wealthy enough to survive in their gated fortresses can re-emerge to buy everything left standing at pennies on the dollar.

way to stupid to implement such a plan. He acts on impulse having no idea the the actions and reactions he is setting in motion. What you describe is an insidious plan but he plans nothing. Our only hope is that the backlash is so severe that Trump and the Republicans will be rendered irrelevant until the kids today become grandparents.

8. I know what he wants to accomplish...

he is just a puppet. His puppet master wants to accomplish a couple of things.

He wants revenge for the US destabilizing the former soviet union, and he will achieve that by destabilizing our stock market and economy. Putin wants empty shelves in our stores and Americans standing in line all day to buy a loaf of bread. He wants us to suffer like they did.

And he wants to dominate the world. First by destabilizing it. That begins with his puppet alienating all of our former allies and trading partners. Then he can pick them off one at a time.

So far, Putin's plan is working very well. Trump has has not made a move yet that has made sense to any political or economic expert, unless you factor in the benefit the move has for Russia. Or that made sense to any one who isn't part of his base. The people who support him have already drunk the purple cool-aid.

Who are those people anyway?

Mostly uneducated rural white males whose proudest moments have been the time they caught an 11 lb catfish with their bare hands and that day at the family reunion when they met the love of their life. (okay, I'm joking about that part.)
