KANSAS CITY, Mo. —
The empty seat in the Missouri State Senate goes to Democrat Lauren Arthur.

Arthur won Tuesday's Special Election in District 17 in Clay County.

Republican opponent Kevin Corlew conceded.

Arthur, a current State Representative for Clay County, campaigned on a push for good schools, to protect working families, and to clean up Jefferson City.
