Trump signs VA reform bill without Democratic co-author

Source: The Hill

President Trump on Wednesday signed a sweeping, bipartisan bill designed to expand veterans’ access to private health care, at a ceremony that excluded its Senate Democratic co-author.

During the event in the White House Rose Garden, Trump framed the bill as a fulfillment of his campaign promise to overhaul the Department of Veterans Affairs’ scandal-plagued health program.

"You've fulfilled your duty to our nation with tremendous loyalty and courage, and with the signing of this veterans' choice legislation, we take one more crucial step in fulfilling our duty to you," he said.

The bill allows veterans to see private physicians if they do not receive needed treatment from VA medical facilities, as long as it is approved by a health provider. It is designed to replace the existing private provider program, known as VA Choice.

May all sentient beings find joy in the success, happiness, and well being of others. This prayer is supposed to be an antidote to envy. To find joy when others win, rather than envy another's success and good fortune. But Trump can never find any joy that way. He finds joy in vindictively pinishing and hurting others. He is a deeply damaged person. He really belongs in a treatment facility, on a therapist's couch. Or in prison for his treason and crimes.

On this website, we should be highlighting our "workhorses" (read the full article), especially when they are up for re-election and the President is doing everything he can to debase him.

Sen. Jon Tester (Mont.), the ranking Democrat on the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee who helped write the bill, was not in attendance. Tester’s office said the senator was not invited.

Sen. Jon Tester (Mont.), the ranking Democrat on the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee who helped write the bill, was not in attendance. Tester’s office said the senator was not invited.

“Jon Tester is a work horse, not a show horse. What’s most important to Jon is fighting for Montana veterans and holding the VA accountable,” said spokesperson Marnee Banks.

'As long as your provider approve it'. This delays our healthcare. We have to go thru too many hurdles to get an appointment. I have good health insurance, but the VA is considered my primary. I have had apoointments cancelled because I am a veteran and the VA had to approve the appointments. Frustrates me that my good insurance is secondary.

It has no funding in place.
Donny two scoops wants congress to defund other programs in order to pay for this one.

Everything tRump does is a scam to make money
for him or his friends.

The VA works better than most private systems.
Better outcomes, quicker care.
I emailed my VA eye Dr. this morning.
2 hours later she called me.
Problem solved.
Try getting that level of service from a public hospital.
