Trump plans confrontational approach with world leaders at economic summit

President Trump plans to confront other world leaders at a summit in Quebec on Friday over what he believes is a global economic system tilted against the United States, several people briefed on the plan said, escalating tensions with U.S. allies who have expressed outrage at his pivot toward protectionism.

The summit will put Trump face to face with leaders he has antagonized on a range of issues, including the environment and the U.S. withdrawal last month from the international nuclear accord with Iran. But the two-day meeting of the Group of Seven, which will bring together many of the world’s leading economies in a picturesque Canadian mountain town, has crystallized into a showdown over trade after Trump’s recent insistence on new barriers that the other nations see as petty and insulting. Most of the other countries represented have a trade beef with Trump that is unlikely to be resolved at the summit — and for each the standoff is one more sign that the United States is pulling back from traditional global leadership roles.

“The good news for him is the Mexicans won’t be there, so that is one less country that he has to deal with” over trade complaints, said William Reinsch, a trade specialist at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. “The others are all mad at him.”

Trump’s top economic adviser characterized the tensions over trade as a “family quarrel,” telling reporters Wednesday that Trump is untroubled by the rancor.

Yep, that pretty much describes Donnie Two Scoops.

What if they gave a G7 Conference and nobody told Trump where it was being held? Or they told him it was a costume party but it wasn't? Or they all just walked out the moment he started talking? Or they turned off his microphone?

Why is everybody so afraid of this asshole?

All it would take is one person walking out of his speech, or some fine European hissing, and he'd be done.

Not address him and pretend he's not even there. Take the final photo before he shows up or better yet tell him they'll all be in some costume and when he shows up in it, tell him they changed their minds. He's not worth being polite to.

Apparently he's angering world leaders deliberately; I guess just to show everyone he can. Except of course for Putin, and maybe Xi, both of whom scare him.

He's brave as hell on twitter, but not in person.
He fired Comey on twitter.
Face-to-face he's spineless.

If he tries to fight with them in person, every one of them will hand him his ass and he won't like that at all. He won't be able to discuss things like an informed leader whatsoever.
