(CNN)Two of Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt's closest aides at the agency resigned on Wednesday, an EPA official confirms to CNN.
Sarah Greenwalt, a senior counselor to Pruitt, and Millan Hupp, who worked as Pruitt's scheduling director, both resigned on Wednesday, the official told CNN. Their resignations are set to take effect late this week and early next week, the source said
Hupp recently testified before the House oversight committee that she did many personal tasks for Pruitt, including house-hunting and inquiring about obtaining a used Trump hotel mattress.
Their resignations leave Pruitt increasingly isolated at the EPA, where he has lost the confidence of most of the agency's career staff and many conservative political appointees who feel that Pruitt's ethical lapses have done a disservice to the President's agenda.

Seriously--how long can this thug stay in office??
BTW--Trump raised Pruitt today at the FEMA conference (Melania by his side--why was she there?? that is another topic I know)
"EPA is doing really, really well. And you know, somebody has to say that about you a little bit," Trump said. "EPA is doing so well...I think people are very happy with the job that's being done at the EPA."..

(8,702 posts)I'm not even sure what to say to this. Its both creepy and such a sycophantic act that it defies logic.
We live in truly strange times.

(3,194 posts)The mattresses at Trump hotels are super awesome and what-not. Personally, I don't give a shit how nice the mattress might be, I'm not buying it used. That's just beyond gross, especially if you've seen those news stories where they shine a black light on hotel mattresses and linens. Ugh. Just... ugh.

(1,469 posts)However, when trump talks about the people that support any of his positions and are "very happy," he cannot include me.
Is Pruitt just being kept on as a distraction for the administration's other malicious deeds or he here to dismantle all of the environmental protections (regulations) until he is finally forced out? Both?

(70,245 posts)These two were Pruitt's political appointee's. Short stint.
Hupp and Greenwalt were also the two aides who were set to receive Pruitt-approved pay raises despite the White House's refusal to sign off on the raises.

(4,651 posts)It's almost as if Drumpf said to Pruitt OK, go head the EPA, dismantle it as much as you can and in the process run up staggering costs for security, trips abroad (this is EPA right?) and vacations. And while you're at it try to violate as many ethical norms as you can, including getting discounted housing from a lobbyist and getting your wife a fast-food franchise.
As the cliche goes, you can't make this stuff up...

(23,121 posts)That always means drumpf is happy and in this case it's because he's following Putin's orders to destroy our country, one tiny bit at a time.
