Trump claims thousands had to be rescued after going 'out in their boats to watch' Hurricane Harvey

Source: The Hill

President Trump claimed Tuesday that people had to be rescued during Hurricane Harvey last year after they “went out in their boats to watch the hurricane.”

Trump made the comments at a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) briefing on the upcoming hurricane season, praising the Coast Guard’s efforts during last year’s storm in Texas.

"They saved 16,000 people, many of them in Texas, for whatever reason that is," Trump said of the Coast Guard. "People went out in their boats to watch the hurricane. That didn't work out too well."

Reporters questioned Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) about Trump’s comment, according to the Texas Tribune.

so that when next time comes around, he can justify that people aren't rescued. A blame the victim mentality which his base will embrace...at least the part of the base that survives.

He's not diminished, or senile. He's a manipulator and knows what he's doing, IMO.

Gramps was a kind, loving typical grandfather. Gramps, after supporting nine kids through some rough times, would watch TV most of the day snoozing off and on. His description of the TV program he was watching were often hilarious. Grams would ask him about what he had been watching and he would come up with a concoction of parts of several programs smashed together. Parts of Westerns he liked with pieces scenes from soap operas and news and what ever happened to be on over a five or six hour viewing. I think Trump has a problem. Its called senility. If he wasn't president he would just be brushed off as a horney old goat that should be put out to pasture.

That man is extremely stupid. Seriously, something has to be wrong with him. Who is stupid enough to believe that people would go out to watch a hurricane in a boat? Also, if a person is in a boat why would they need to be rescued? Does he really believe more than 8,000 went out to watch a hurricane in their boats? Why would they need to go out in boats to watch a hurricane when they are in the middle of the hurricane?

I mean the deep-red Trump-voting Texans. They like being called so stupid they'd fire up the duck boat and gun it into the eye of the storm?

Cause that would get you punched in the mouth around here.
