During a press conference on Republicans ongoing immigration debate, House Speaker Paul Ryan briefly mentioned the Trump-Russia probe, insisting that there is no evidence of collusion.
In all of this, in any of this, theres been no evidence that theres any collusion between the Trump campaign and the President and Russia, he said. Lets just make that clear there is no collusion.
This is Russia and what they did and making sure they dont do it again and about us, Congress, the elected representative branch of government, conducting very legitimate oversight over the appointed executive branch of government, and we expect them to comply with all of our oversight requests because that is how good government works, he added.
Ryan is again singing President Donald Trumps tune after a rare break with the President Wednesday when he cast doubt on Trumps spygate conspiracy by asserting that the FBI had legitimate grounds for sending an informant to converse with Trump campaign aides.

(1,142 posts)Except Paul Ryan had no problems using the hacked materials Russia stole in GOP races, the GOP has no honor and are full of hypocrisy

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday called on House Speaker Paul Ryan to oppose any attempts to use the hacked materials from the Democratic National Committee in campaign attacks, saying Republicans and Democrats must present a "united front."
"Russia's cyber attack is an unprecedented assault on the sanctity of our democratic process," Pelosi wrote. "We must come together to say that defending our democracy from Russia's meddling is more important than any advantage of disadvantage in this election."
She went on to say, "Democrats and Republicans must present a united front in the face of Russia's attempts to tamper with the will of the American people."
A spokeswoman for Paul Ryan did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but Katie Martin, a spokeswoman with the National Republican Congressional Committee told the Associated Press that Ryan and NRCC head Greg Walden do not "have control over" all campaign ads.
And the hacked materials were also used in House races too

Why the Russian government might care about these unglamorous House races is a source of bafflement for some of the lawmakers who were targeted. But if the goal of Russias president, Vladimir V. Putin, was to make American democracy a less attractive model to his own citizens and to Russias neighbors, then entangling congressional races in accusations of leaks and subterfuge was a step in the right direction.
The intrusions in House races in states including Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Ohio, Illinois, New Mexico and North Carolina can be traced to tens of thousands of pages of documents taken from the D.C.C.C., which shares a Capitol Hill office building with the Democratic National Committee.
The document dumps effectiveness was due in part to a de facto alliance that formed between the Russian hackers and political bloggers and newspapers across the United States. The hackers, working under the made-up name of Guccifer 2.0, used social media tools to invite individual reporters to request specific caches of documents, handing them out the way political operatives distribute scoops. It was an arrangement that proved irresistible to many news outlets and amplified the consequences of the cyberattack.
