Fox News star Charles Krauthammer reveals he has weeks to live in heartbreaking letter

Source: Fox News

Charles Krauthammer, the beloved and brilliant Fox News Channel personality who gave up a pioneering career in psychiatry to become a Pulitzer Prize-winning political analyst, on Friday revealed the heartbreaking news that he is in the final stages of a losing battle with cancer.

The 68-year-old’s incisive takes on politics of the day have been missing from Fox News Channel’s “Special Report” for nearly a year as he battled an abdominal tumor and subsequent complications, but colleagues and viewers alike had held out hope that he would return to the evening show he helped establish as must-viewing. But in an eloquent, yet unblinking letter to co-workers, friends and Fox News Channel viewers, Krauthammer disclosed that he has just weeks to live.

“I have been uncharacteristically silent these past ten months,” the letter began. “I had thought that silence would soon be coming to an end, but I’m afraid I must tell you now that fate has decided on a different course for me.” . . .

Was never a fan, but respected him as a bright guy who overcame being a paraplegic to contribute - even if it was Fox News. I suspect he was heartbroken at the end to see what he and his GOP colleagues had created.

He is responsible for the right-wing SCOTUS, by unconstitutionally blocking Obama's nomination.

His personal background and history is interesting.

WIKI, Political views[edit]
Meg Greenfield, editorial page editor for The Washington Post who edited Krauthammer's columns for 15 years, called his weekly column "independent and hard to peg politically. It's a very tough column. There's no 'trendy' in it. You never know what is going to happen next." Hendrik Hertzberg, also a former colleague of Krauthammer while they worked at The New Republic in the 1980s, said that when the two first met in 1978, Krauthammer was "70 percent Mondale liberal, 30 percent 'Scoop Jackson Democrat,' that is, hard-line on Israel and relations with the Soviet Union"; in the mid-1980s, he was still "50–50: fairly liberal on economic and social questions but a full-bore foreign-policy neoconservative." Hertzberg now calls Krauthammer a "pretty solid 90–10 Republican." Krauthammer has been described by some as a conservative.

sitting in the wheel chair section which was at the back of the section where my tickets were located. I rarely if ever agreed with him and often found his columns infuriating. But he never seemed to seek any special treatment at games and seemed genuinely happy when he was just able to enjoy an afternoon or evening at the ballpark.

...what happened to those missing WMD's? And his and the Reich-wing's credibility?

"Hans Blix had five months to find weapons. He found nothing. We’ve had five weeks. Come back to me in five months. If we haven’t found any, we will have a credibility problem." - Krauthammer, 22 April 2003.

Well. I guess I actually used it there, but I'll say he wasn't nearly my least favorite Fox contributor.

At least he's a true conservative, with sincere values and convictions, instead of a propagandist like many of his co-contributors on Fox. I've seen him criticize republicans, including Trump, when he feels they do harm for the sole sake of the party.

Hang in there Kraut.

(I didn't alert on this, but it should be obvious that foxnews more than exceeds requirements for being a right-wing source)

In this case, I might agree with the jury, since this particular article has an unusual personal aspect and doesn't exactly qualify as right-wing propaganda, which is what the spirit of that rule is about.
Then again, I might not, since I'm against giving link juice to foxnews as a rule.
