North Korea says nuclear dismantling a 'step-by-step' process with U.S. rewards along the way

SEOUL — North Korea’s state-run media is framing the agreements reached at the Singapore summit as a “step-by-step” process intended to bring U.S. rewards in exchange for gradual moves by Pyongyang to dismantle its nuclear program.

The account Wednesday in the official Rodong Sinmun newspaper could signal the first rift with President Trump over the perceived way forward with the North’s leader, Kim Jong Un. The extensive and — by North Korean standards — speedy coverage also suggested an attempt to set the post-summit narrative of the vaguely worded declaration signed by Kim and Trump.

After Tuesday’s talks, Trump said no sanctions would be lifted until the rollback of the North’s nuclear capabilities reached “a certain point.” Trump gave no further details, but previous statements demanded that North Korea effectively eliminate its nuclear program before any U.S. concessions can be considered.

On Monday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said sanctions would remain in place until “CVID” — referring to complete, verifiable, irreversible denuclearization. “The V matters,” he told reporters in Singapore.

CVID is a joke. North Korea knows it. Who know how many more concessions we are going to make for the butcher of North Korea?

We already gave them the war games.....for nothing.

So they know we are suckers.

They will ask for more....and more.....and more.....

Ultimately, they will keep their nukes, and we will shower on them concession after concession after concession......

Trump is the gift that keeps on giving....

Make North Korea Great Again!

been the main, quiet, essential, ignored element. Moon will get it done while Trump is there for background appearances while being easily manipulated by both with false praise.

They understand Trump desperately wants to prove his deal making prowess. If they chip away in small bits, they know Trump will allow it as long as he can continue to sell the idea that he made the deal that no one else could. Trump will only not tolerate something that is such an immediate obvious failure that he can't sell it anymore at all.

Trump is a con man, not a deal maker, and con men can be the easiest people to con.
