Newspaper shooting suspect 'barricaded exit'

The suspect in Thursday's mass shooting at a Maryland newspaper office barricaded an exit so that employees could not escape, says a prosecutor.
Police earlier told reporters the accused, Jarrod Ramos, was not co-operating with the investigation.
Police found evidence the attack had been planned at the suspect's house.
Mr Ramos, 38, said nothing as he appeared in court via video link on Friday to be charged with five counts of first-degree murder.

(18,470 posts)I wrote my state Senator today telling him that next year I'd like to see Iowa mandate the death penalty for those who murder journalists, and that fees for journalists to have concealed carry permits should be waived.

(50,560 posts)Unfortunately, we can't nail the bastard on federal hate crime laws because he killed five Caucasians, and "journalist" is not a protected class.
I wonder...could the survivors go after Trump in his private capacity in a civil suit for incitement?
