Victim of shooting outside Kansas school has died; suspect tried to escape custody

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Overland Park, Kan., police have taken into custody a man they think shot two construction workers outside a Blue Valley elementary school in southern Overland Park on Tuesday morning.
One victim died, police reported at 2:46 p.m. The other remains in critical condition.
The shooting was reported just after 9 a.m. Tuesday outside Sunrise Point Elementary School.
A GMC Denali that the suspect stole at gunpoint after fleeing the school was found later empty at the home of the carjacking victim, police said.

(29,194 posts)carjacked a Denali... apparently discovered the address of the owner and maybe even a house key. Drove to the guys home and parked the car and then tried to escape by foot.
As the article said... "weird"

(13,481 posts)Shooter was actually a fellow coworker of the men shot. Apparently they were arguing about something and he shot his coworkers. Guess the employer allowed employees to carry a gun at work sites. Think you can carry anywhere in Kansas.
