Jim Jordan: Allegations against me aren't true 01:51
Washington (CNN)Rep. Jim Jordan's office will contact Capitol Hill police after receiving emails from an alleged victim of sexual abuse at Ohio State University when the Ohio Republican was an assistant wrestling coach, a source within the office told CNN Wednesday.
The source added that the messages were vaguely threatening in nature in part because of the amount of emails sent, and that Jordan did not respond to the emails because he felt the man was "bullying him."
...................................
The alleged victim, Mike DiSabato, had been sending emails for a few months, the source said.
Jordan didn't respond to the emails because he didn't want to encourage the behavior, the source said. Speaking to reporters at a Fourth of July celebration in Fremont, Ohio, on Wednesday, Jordan said he last spoke with DiSabato early this spring................................

HE felt bullied? That's rich. But I guess he would recognize that better than most. Sort of takes one to know one kind of thing.

Wait. A Republican gets emails and decides to get the police involved to investigate a man whos name we know and the story goes public without knowing the content of those emails-and its the LIBERALS who are assassinating ones character? Oh. Ok.

(8,200 posts)It is really a sad state of affairs when I hope that they crucify the bastard. I watched as they tried to destroy Hilary Clinton and it made me sick to my stomach. I guess that I am so damn tired of these bastards that I really don't give a damn what happens to them. They are like a pack of vultures or hyenas. There seems to be no end to their evilness. Is there just one, just one that has a conscience. Is there just one that puts the welfare of our nation before their hated that consumes them like a disease? Is there any end to this madness before we all go stark raving mad?

(8,039 posts)that if you want to know what Republicans are up to, look at what they're projecting onto Democrats.
"The Clinton Foundation is corrupt!" Except it isn't, and the Trump Foundation is.
"Democrats are running a pedophile ring!"
Except they aren't, and the GOP at the very least has a long history of, at the very least, tolerating such atrocities. I mean, does anybody else remember Speaker Hastert? The GOP Congressional page scandal? Etc. Etc.
I'm sure there are other instances of his. They accuse us of what they know they themselves are doing.
It's like a sickness with them.

(14,124 posts).... when these young men initially contacted him as the assistant wrestling coach about the sexual abuse.
Jordan let the complaint slide back then but now he calls the cops. Something seems backwards here.
Jordan now feels threatened by the email contact... but he ignored the young men when they complained aand asked for help about sexual molestation - and took no/zero action to help them.

A number of that magnitude strains belief.
If that's accurate then I'd bet you that at some point Jordan is going to walk back his 'I didn't know' story and start peddling a 'I knew the Gay Agenda Corruption in the Ivory Towers of the Liberal Elite was so entrenched that I knew there's nothing I could do in terms of reporting was going to have any effect! They already knew!' storyline.

(430 posts)and he and I'm sure a lot of Buckeye fans had a lot to say about Paterno but at least Paterno told his superiors who did nothing. Some wanted ALL sports at Penn State shut down. Sauce for the goose, for those Buckeye fans who blasted Joe?
Let's see if we hear a pin drop from all those who complained about Penn State.
And no, I'm not a Penn State alumni.

(22,077 posts)of the sport involved. Just like Penn State. And, to be fair, I'm sure that there are other clubs involved in this country that have such claims being made against them. It's just too much money involved for these schools that they are scared to upset the golden cart, hurt scholarships, etc.
A flimsy excuse. The reputation of the school is damaged far more if they engage in a cover up (e.g., Penn state) instead of being pro-active about the whole mess, after all, crap does happen unfortunately and one does need to weed crap out of our schools like this and make them safe for all of us.

Former Ohio State wrestler Mike DiSabato found it mildly ridiculous that Rep. Jim Jordan would think he was bullying him.
In an interview with CNNs Brooke Baldwin Wednesday, DiSabato explained that it was somewhat laughable that Jordans office would claim that DiSabato was bullying him into getting involved with a sexual assault investigation into The Ohio State University wrestling team doctor Richard Strauss.
First of all, Jim Jordan is a world-caliber athlete who is very aggressive, DiSabato explained. Hes a bulldog. Lets be honest. I think we saw a lot of that last week with [Deputy Attorney General] Mr. [Rod] Rosenstein.
For him to say he was being bullied by Mike DiSabatos somewhat laughable, he continued. Ill take it because Ive never bullied Jim Jordan on the mat. He was a heck a lot of better than me at the time.
Yet again, I think Jim is in a position where he doesnt know what to say now because I think he received absolutely terrible advice from whomever was advising him because, again, all you have to do is research the word abuse.

Former Ohio State Wrestler Mike DiSabato appeared on CNN Wednesday afternoon after Rep. Jim Jordan again denied allegations he knew about sexual abuse at the university.
DiSabatos allegations prompted an investigation at OSU earlier this year and were the subject of an NBC News report in which he claimed Jordan who served as an assistant wrestling coach ignored sexual abuse of wrestlers by the teams doctor, Richard Strauss.
After detailing instances of the abuse, CNNs Brooke Baldwin asked DiSabato about the specific times he claims to have told Jordan about the doctors behavior.
These conversations were not individual conversations, DiSabato said. They were conversations with a group of athletes who were complaining on a regular basis, not only about Dr. Strauss but the conditions within Larkins hall that forced us to take showers with not only Dr. Strauss, but other university faculty members and professors who had access to our shower facility, and on a daily basis were involved in lewd acts that included public masturbation [and] excessive soaping of their groin area.
