Trump compares border enforcement to keeping people off your lawn

President Trump on Thursday said Congress must pass immigration laws that would allow the U.S. authorities to kick out people entering the country "just as they would if they were standing on your front lawn."
In a series of tweets, Trump railed against the U.S.'s immigration laws, calling them "insane."
"Congress must pass smart, fast and reasonable Immigration Laws now. Law Enforcement at the Border is doing a great job, but the laws they are forced to work with are insane," Trump tweeted. "When people, with or without children, enter our Country, they must be told to leave without our Country being forced to endure a long and costly trial. Tell the people 'OUT,' and they must leave, just as they would if they were standing on your front lawn. Hiring thousands of judges does not work and is not acceptable - only Country in the World that does this!"

(3,515 posts)I just say "Hello, how are you doing?" and we talk a bit.
I cannot imagine what kind of person chases people off their lawn. Lawns are for, as my grandmother used to say, "visiting." Isn't that the point of the swinging chair on the front porch?
old Republicans are the kind of people chase people off their lawns.

(18,124 posts)thinking. The trumpturd is a disaster and his effect is growing. He is not the clint eastwood character, he is the plague of racist hooligans, con artists and murderers that infect D.C. now. Hell, he's a poisonous snake in my grass waiting to kill me.

(38,365 posts)It may be a tremendous plus for our side.. Why?
Republican candidates running against Democrats will have to defend Trump's stupid statement..which is......cannot be defended...Our side can come back with intelligent responses. We will see..

Ok..here is the real story....your neighbor is standing on your front lawn, and without warning, you take out a gun and fire at him and wound him in way that would be permanently painful....Yes, he might heal, but the pain will be with him the rest of his life......
In this above story, does the end justify the means?...Does permanently injuring someone justify a shooting because the person has stood on your lawn....?
So the children that Trump has ordered to be taken, now ordered to be returned, do those acts justify the fact that the parents tried to enter the country to have a safer place to live? That is the only reason that almost all wanted to come here. To raise their children in a safer place than where they were before...
So Trump sees himself as being..."tough" ..So was Idi Amen, Adolph Hitler, Joe Stalin, Mussolini ,,etc..Trump is a total fool for instituting such a policy of incredible pain on people that just wanted to raise their children in a safer place. It is not telling your neighbor to get off your lawn...It is shooting your neighbor for stepping on the lawn for some time to pick up some money that he dropped on the lawn..

(10,291 posts)No fences (save for an 'Invisible' dog fence). Our neighbour's chickens roam in our back yard. Neighbours come and go routinely across our yard. We come and go across their yard. We mow part of their yards, they mow part of theirs. Right now, I have two end-of-life vehicles parked on my neighbour's property
Our yards around here represent more like "Schengen" than a US/Mexico border.

(21,859 posts)yards, mowing their grass etc. I live in a highly urban area so yards are very small, not much roaming across yards by strangers so no need to. Very unusual if someone did, w/ exception of mailman.
Usually if someone is crossing a yard, it's highly unusual and last two times someone did in my neighborhood, it was a fugitive fleeing the police in one case, and one drugged up individual in the other (police caught, told me guy was rambling on and on, making no sense).
Remember rump didn't want those windmills off the Scotland coast (from his property of course) to mar the view.
At least he didn't compare immigration to an infestation of roaches, but you just know, that is what he wanted to say.
