Man pleads not guilty to hate crimes in attack on protesters

Source: AP

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — An Ohio man pleaded not guilty to federal hate crime charges Thursday in a deadly car attack on a crowd of protesters opposing a white nationalist rally in Virginia.

James Alex Fields Jr. entered the plea during his initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Charlottesville after being charged last week with 30 federal crimes in the Aug. 12 violence that killed 32-year-old Heather Heyer and injured dozens more. He also is charged under Virginia law with murder and other crimes.
...
He told U.S. Magistrate Judge Joel Hoppe that he is being treated for bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression and ADHD, and is taking medication. But also said the drugs do not impair his ability to understand the charges against him.
...
According to an indictment, Fields expressed white supremacist views on social media ahead of the rally, such as support for Hitler’s policies, including the Holocaust.

The only fitting penalty for your hate crimes lies at the end of a noose, hanging from a tree, in public. You wanted to be the big man, here's your chance. Show your Republican incel buddies how a real man accepts responsibility for his actions.

Yeah, like that will ever happen. A Republican accepting responsibility for their actions. Dream on.

That will just make him a martyr to the cause.

A lifetime in a Supermax surrounded by black and brown inmates who are all too happy to show him the error of his views is much better.

It is nicer than the city's courthouse. The days go by slowly in the Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail.

In due time you will get yours Mister Fields.
