Former Farmington Town Councilman arrested for harassment

FARMINGTON — A former town official from Faramington is facing charges that stemmed from a sexual relationship he had with a teenage girl.

Former Town Councilor Jon Landry was arraigned Monday on misdemeanor charges of harassment and interfering with police.

Authorities said the 42-year-old Landry, using a fake name, met the girl online in 2008 when she was 12 and started having a sex with her when she was 16. He is not facing sex-related charges because the girl was the age of consent and the relationship was consensual.

The charges stem from Landry’s alleged threats against the now 22-year-old woman and his use of the “assumed name” in talking to police.

Farmington is an upper middle class suburb of Hartford and is the next town over from me. It's been under Republican control since the 1960s, I believe, though they're generally pretty moderate.

Fun Facts:
Mike Tyson used to own a home in Farmington (later bought by 50 Cent, I believe), but I'm not sure he ever did more than visit it a few times.

Farmington is also home of Miss Porter's School - where Jackie Bouvier (Kennedy) and Dorothy Bush (daughter of George HW Bush) - spent their high school years.

You're right about that house - I believe it is the biggest house in the state. It's had four or five owners, among them Mike Tyson and 50 Cent.
