HHS Sec: What We're Doing to Help Migrant Children 'One of the Great Acts of American Generosity'

Source: Mediaite

Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said that what the U.S. government is doing with migrant children being detained at the southern border is “one of the great acts of American generosity and charity.”

Azar appeared on CNN Tuesday night where he faced a grilling from Wolf Blitzer over why he’s turning away the news media and members of Congress from visiting detention centers where child migrants are being held, after being separated from their families.

The HHS Secretary maintained that he “wants to be transparent” and has “nothing to hide about how we operate these facilities.”

“It is one of the great great acts of American generosity and charity what we are doing for these unaccompanied kids who are smuggled into our country or come across illegally,” Azar said.

Both, is my guess.

Because anyone who can defend, enable, or implement that "program" is a sick fuck to begin with.

$700 a kid a day of taxpayer money to Betheny to keep them until they can sell them to proper "Christian Evangelical" foster families in an effort to save souls at the highest bid?

Even more "taxpayer generosity" per day per to the various "correctional/rehabilitative services" and "foster care services" corporations that are holding kids in abandoned warehouses and tent cities - where there are already rumors they might be requiring the older kids to do the maintenance support and janitorial work in lieu of hiring contractors so these kids will "pay for their upkeep" as is done to other prisoners in the Prison Industrial Complex?

When the public learned that the Argentine dictatorship had snatched some 500 babies from captive mothers (political prisoners who were later dropped into the Atlantic), right-wing supporters frequently described it as a "favor" and an "act of humanity" toward children who "would otherwise grow up poisoned by deviant leftist ideology."

They still do in fact.

Charges that would ensure these assholes could never travel outside the US without fear of arrest would be a good start.

"We're giving these poor unwanted and unloved children brand new mommies and daddies who will love them and bring them up in good proper Christian homes."

You realize there's not enough prison space in America to hold everyone from the Trump Administration who deserves life in the stockade, largely because everyone in the Trump Administration deserves that fate.
