Franken offers Dems a line of questioning for Kavanaugh's 'weirdly specific bit of bulls---'

Source: The Hill

BY JACQUELINE THOMSEN - 07/13/18 10:20 PM EDT

Former Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) on Friday offered up a line of questioning for Democrats to use on President Trump's Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Franken, who resigned in December after multiple allegations of groping women, said that if he were still in the Senate he would want to drill down details on a statement that Kavanaugh made this week when he was nominated.

After being introduced by Trump during an event at the White House on Monday night, Kavanaugh thanked the president, saying, "Throughout this process, I’ve witnessed firsthand your appreciation for the vital role of the American judiciary."

Al's kicking in suggestions!! Woot! I wish he was still around. He was a bulldog in hearings. Heartening to know he still gives a shit even after our lack of aggressive support and forgiveness of whatever it was that haunted him. The Perfection Standard often leads to the firing squad so fast for Democrats that they're gone even before a fair hearing.
Thanks Sen. Franken for still kicking in. been a good 48 hrs. for Americans and especially Democrats.

but I'm glad to see at least that he's still helping guide his Senate colleagues even if, necessarily, indirectly.

I am still angry at his treatment by Senate colleagues. Political realities are one thing; but getting-on-a-moral-but-really-career-promoting-high-horse (yes, I'm talking to you, Kirsten Gillibrand) is another.

We lost one of our best senators to holier-than-thou stage craft. His voice in Congress now would have been invaluable.
