$88 Million and Counting: Trump Amasses Huge Head Start for 2020 Campaign

Source: MSN/NY Times

WASHINGTON — President Trump has raised more than $88 million for his re-election campaign over the last year and a half, giving him a dramatic head-start on prospective Democratic challengers in the 2020 race.

Mr. Trump’s campaign committee, combined with two joint committees formed with the Republican Party, ended last month with nearly $53.6 million in the bank — almost $10 million more than their previous largest balance — according to finance reports filed Sunday evening with the Federal Election Commission.

The totals reflect a brisk and continued fund-raising effort by Mr. Trump’s campaign operation that, in a departure from usual presidential practice, started even before he took office. Most new presidents shift their political operations to their national party committee until launching their re-election campaign after the first midterm election of their tenure.

Mr. Trump’s campaign and the two joint committees — Trump Victory and Trump Make America Great Again — have continued spending aggressively to cultivate donors through both online list-building targeting small donors and fund-raising events for big donors.

Given the Trump administration's blatant willingness to sell out, Trump will be able to outspend anyone the Democrats field 5 to 1, particularly when you include the Koch Brothers, Sinclair Broadcasting, Sheldon Adelson, the Russians, and Fox News each throwing over $100 million each in in-kind support and propaganda.

Every network and other media outlet will donate at least a billion dollars in free advertising because of the freak show & twitter nonsense.

And no doubt this is just another one of those "follow the money" trails that Mueller has been watching all along.

He'll just funnel it into his personal bank account by holding fund raisers at Mar A Lago and his hotels and golf courses and house his campaign offices in Trump Hotels, charging exorbinant rents.

It won't be the first time the repugs have used campaign funds for that purpose. Having a flush war chest must be a real comfort to the orange one.

Money Laundering.

It's the wealth from Russia stolen by Putin and his Russian mob handed over to go betweens to hand over to Trump the traitor. All authorized by the Supreme Court and blessed by RepubliCON wannabe mobsters.

It's a crime on a vast scale all fueled by capitalism.

And the though Trump is raking in tens of millions, Putin's minions, his trolls and agents, his hit men and spies, barely make the equivalent of the US minimum wage. All these people helping out the vast crimes perpetuated by Putin and Traitor Trump barely get their expenses paid. So why do they keep helping these criminals who will turn on them like the devil turns on his friends?

He'll have over 100 million he can stash in his K-Mart suit and dance away from the crap he's causing.

Koch, Sinclair, Adelson, etc will be happy to settle for Pence who is not, at least, quite as embarrassing even if just as dangerous.

There are restrictions on what they can do with the money. They can donate it to non-profits, other candidates, and the party itself with various limits. Campaign funds keep going for a very long time. Bill Clinton, George Bush, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton all have active campaign funds and file reports with the Federal Election Commission.
