From the Start, Trump Has Muddied a Clear Message: Putin Interfered
Source: New York Times
WASHINGTON Two weeks before his inauguration, Donald J. Trump was shown highly classified intelligence indicating that President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia had personally ordered complex cyberattacks to sway the 2016 American election.
The evidence included texts and emails from Russian military officers and information gleaned from a top-secret source close to Mr. Putin, who had described to the C.I.A. how the Kremlin decided to execute its campaign of hacking and disinformation.
Mr. Trump sounded grudgingly convinced, according to several people who attended the intelligence briefing. But ever since, Mr. Trump has tried to cloud the very clear findings that he received on Jan. 6, 2017, which his own intelligence leaders have unanimously endorsed.
The shifting narrative underscores the degree to which Mr. Trump regularly picks and chooses intelligence to suit his political purposes. That has never been more clear than this week.

Don't get me wrong... the circumstances of the Helsinki summit mandated this patriotic act to out the Treason of DJT... but there is no way this gets out without high level leaks.
Hats off... but we lost some assets today... but it was time.

(21,620 posts)but then being allowed to keep it - with the implicit promise from the source that if you play along, another $10 million would come your way in 2020.
It would be hard not to let one's conflict of interest get in the way.

(13,587 posts)The only thing that's kept the trump organization afloat is russian mob/kremlin money. It's responsible, in one way or another, for most of the real estate transactions and the payoffs for his henchmen like cohen. So, in short, they are the trump organization's best customer. And, without it, the trump organization would dissolve. Hence, trump's obsequious behavior toward putin and russia. If he alienates them, there goes his money. Also, that's why he's never released his tax returns.

(21,620 posts)In Cheeto's case, it's hundreds of millions in Russian money just do far - and no doubt hundreds of millions more if he's a good boy.
And while lying non-stop and committing treason in the meantime of course.

Then there was the one in Buenos Aires that fell through because, apparently, Cheeto didn't want to bribe Argentina's new right-wing president, Macri.
Argentina was small potatoes compared to Russia, no doubt.

(4,033 posts)that Trump is totally and obviously guilty of being an "Accessory After the Fact" to a felony!
What more do you need for High Crimes and Misdemeanors??
From Wex Legal Dictionary (which sounds almost exactly like what Figliuzzi said:
Someone who assists another 1) who has committed a felony, 2) after the person has committed the felony, 3) with knowledge that the person committed the felony, and 4) with the intent to help the person avoid arrest or punishment. An accessory after the fact may be held liable for, inter alia, obstruction of justice.

in thinking that it was already known that Trump had been told Putin was responsible. With that apparently being 'new', I can see why this is 'news'. Sorry for the locked intermission.
