Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif) has been using campaign donations for leisure activities like going to Celtics games and hitting up a winery, the Fresno Bee reports.
Nunes' PAC..........................
On March 9, Nunes' PAC spent $7,229 on restaurants and hotels in Las Vegas. Nunes also spent the money at wineries and on a limousine in Paso Robles.............................
............................................
Nunes has been one of the lone lawmakers to bolster President Donald Trump's claim that the FBI spied on him during the 2016 election.
According to the Bee, his attacks on special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation have helped his fundraising.

(36,841 posts)Nunes, R-Calif., has reportedly been a Celtics fan since high school, though he grew up in Tulare, California. He used the money from his political action committee last year on three occasions to buy tickets.
His PAC also spent about $42,741 since 2013 on catering, site rentals, hotels and meals in Las Vegas. The most recent instance was March 9, when the PAC spent $7,229 at seven different restaurants and hotels in Las Vegas.
On June 19, the PACs expenditures included nearly $5,000 spent at six wineries in Paso Robles and Santa Margarita, both outside his district in California, and about $5,000 to Gold Coast Limousine the same day.

Wait, did I say, "I'm sure"? I think I meant "I'm not sure". But, I'm not sure. I'll sort this out ...

(100,065 posts)I mean come on if you're going to waste money on that to see a basketball team, at least represent one from your home state! We've got the Lakers, Clippers, and the Warriors! But you're going for the fucking Celtics? Blasphemy!

(36 posts)I might be way out in left field here but: Nunes has interests in 2 wineries, that I know of, Phase 2 Cellars and Alpha Omega Winery LLC. I don't know if any wines are sold under those labels or some other, don't know much about the industry, just drink it. Does anyone know any of the particulars here, would it be possible to boycott or is Nunes just one of many holding interest in the business? I can't tell you how much time I spend trying to figure out how to screw these guys over, legally.

(81,220 posts)Guess life in Fresno motivates you to seek better comforts. If youve ever been to that part of California, its what you gratefully drive THROUGH on the way to someplace else. Hell, ANY place else. Dry, flat, hot, semi-barren. No rain. Few trees. Agriculture mainly. And since he got sent from the small town to big fancy cosmopolitan Washington DC where the power and the big boys are, you get a taste for finer things. And an outsized sense of entitlement.
My sincere sympathies to the voters in Fresno and Tulare and other landlocked communities in that area. They deserve better. They CERTAINLY deserve better and more noble representation! Rather than vote with the best of intentions to send a local boy to the big leagues only to have him get too much of a taste for power and the high life and throwing his weight around, and bring shame and disgrace down upon them back home. They deserve representation with INTEGRITY.
