LAPD officers investigated for excessive force, apparently caught on tape

(CBS/KCBS) LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles police chief says he has "serious concerns" about a videotaped arrest that shows a woman in handcuffs being thrown to the ground by two officers.

Michelle Jordan, 34, said she was pulled over on Aug. 21 by Foothill Division officers for driving while talking on her cellphone, CBS Los Angeles reports.

Security video from a Del Taco restaurant at Foothill Boulevard and Saluda Avenue shows the two officers talking to Jordan before she gets out of her car.

In the video officers are seen taking her to the ground twice, while she's in handcuffs.

as soon as word came down that a verdict had been reached in Simi Valley, CA, our whole dept. in Simi Valley went on tactical alert.
We were able to head off trouble before it got out of hand, unlike the LAPD.

However, nowadays, it's getting harder for depts. to sweep police brutality under the rug like they used to.

and formed it's own Police Dept. instead of having the Ventura County Sheriff's Dept. come in and advise, we had the LAPD as our mentors.
We sure were embarrassed for the LAPD. It seems the pupils did a much better job than the teachers.

it is a bad move on her part. She refused to get out of her car so they drag her out -- she could have been injured right there too.

We used to have an unfunny "joke" in Los Angeles -- How do you make a cop hit you in the head with his flashlight? Answer: You say "You can't hit ME in the head with your flashlight!"

There is a video of the brutality. Just exactly how "serious" are these concerns? Didn't he look at the video?

So now he assigned both cops to desk duty. With pay.

What is he concerned about? Was he concerned about the brutality? Or concerned that two more cops in his department were caught on video?
