Russia Snubs Trump's Invite For Second Summit: 'Not Now'
Source: Mediaite via Reuters
Even though President Trump has already proposed a follow-up to his recent summit with Vladimir Putin, it would appear that the Russians arent interesting in another meeting.
Reuters recently reached out to Kremlin diplomat Yuri Ushakov to see if Moscow had any response to the fallout from last weeks summit in Helsinki. Ushakov said that Trump and Putin could have a meeting at international events like the G20 summit later this year, but he declined to elaborate on why exactly his government hasnt accepted Trumps invitation to meet again sooner.
After the summit you know what kind of atmosphere there is around its outcome, said Ushakov. I think it would be wise to let the dust settle and then we can discuss all these questions in a business-like way. But not now.

It seems Putin is tiring of Trump's incompetance.

(8,200 posts)Trump thinks that he is a great negotiator. The "Art of the Deal" was the nothing more than the "Art of the Steal" where he stiffed everybody. He can't get credit in the United States and his only resource was Russia where he actually is only a money laundering machine for the Russia mafia. They are more than glad to buy his condos at inflated prices and he is willing to sell his own country down the tubes and provide them a place to safely park their stolen money. The crop of ultra wealthy were insiders who bought up industries that were de-nationalized following the collapse of the USSR for a penny on the dollar. The KGB operatives used their inside knowledge and muscle to enrich themselves.

The above is exactly what Hugo Chavez did, a little worst because they also "appropriated" many industries and businesses, they invented excuses and created accusations on fraud, etc. to take those industries from the owners. They did the same with ranches, the ones that produced the best agriculture, the best cattle, and destroyed everything. They also destroyed the Venezuelan Oil industry, they pocketed most of the money that came in for oil sales. These people are billionaires, and it is interesting the fact that they cannot enjoy that money because if they set foot outside of Venezuela, they will be caught.
The tariffs, and possibly a war will bring the economy to its knees, and that is what he, and his Russian accomplices and those on the GOP who are already compromised, want. If he is able to confirm the new judge, that will be the beginning of the end, anyone who truly loves the USA would do whatever he/she can to make sure he is not confirmed, I am only hoping that Corker and Flake have the balls and are true patriots to help avoid that catastrophe.

(36,824 posts)The Kremlins failure to swiftly accept Trumps invitation for a Washington summit has been noticeable. Though Moscow saw the Helsinki summit n the two leaders held last week as a success, the fiercely negative reaction by some U.S. politicians to Trumps performance has taken some in Russia aback.
Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said that though Washington and Moscow agreed there was a need for another Putin-Trump meeting, Russia had not yet begun any practical preparations for a new meeting.
There are other options (to meet) which our leaders can look at, Ushakov told reporters, citing a meeting of G20 leaders in Argentina which starts at the end of November.

No, it's a show of alpha dominance. And perhaps even a threat. It's a way of remindig Trump that Putin has all the compromat and holds all the cards. I'll send for you when I'm ready.

Putin just dismissed a White House invite as nothing special. "Nah, I can't. I have to shampoo my hair that day."

(1,513 posts)Putin got everything he wanted from Helsinki. Why in the world would he want to open himself up to further confrontations like he had with Chris Wallace? Someone he cant safely have eliminated.
That Trump issued the invitation and has now had it rejected makes Trump look even weaker than he looked immediately post-Helsinki.
Come on Mueller! Drop your bombs! Hes got blood in his eyes and hes staggering.

(1,513 posts)Its sad that Putin is so obviously smarter than Trump who always behaves like a bull charging a red flag. People told him he should distance himself from Putin and instead he tried to embrace him more closely as stupid as that looked to everyone.
Putin rejects the insane invitation knowing that a little lost face is better than the political catastrophe his visit right before the midterms would ignite.
