'Trump 2020' campaign banners are being proudly produced in . . . China?
Source: Marketwatch
Manufacturers are already hard at work churning out banners for President Donald Trumps 2020 re-election campaign in China.
According to a Reuters report Wednesday, Chinas Jiahao Flag Co. has produced more than 90,000 Trump 2020: Keep America Great! banners and flags since March, and the factory has ramped up production before Trumps threatened tariffs against all Chinese-made goods kick on.
The banners and flags cost about $1 each to make, Reuters said, and a factory manager said Trumps campaign suppliers appear to be trying to get their orders in before potential tariffs cause the price to rise.
The manager told Reuters that the factory has been making Trump banners ever since the days of Make America Great Again.
Workers make flags for President Donald Trump's 2020 re-election campaign at the Jiahao flag factory in Fuyang, Anhui province, China, on Wednesday.

(18,907 posts)it is a little early to start airing 2020 campaign ads. But I certainly agree that it's another ready-made campaign ad. The timing would be my only concern.

(127,331 posts)per my post #6. Tie the GOP congressional candidate directly to Drumpf and use that OP photo with a tagline - "Make America Great Again... in China".
In 2010, the GOP demonized the ACA and encouraged Democrats to run away from Obama (and too many Dems sat it out). We need to do the same in 2018 with the GOP by underscoring the hypocrisy of their "leader" embracing that slogan while his goods are made overseas.

(18,907 posts)yes. Of course we all know justice is not only blind, it's also deaf and dumb. Where the wealthy are concerned it's exponentially so.

(127,331 posts)And that ad could be used for every Democratic candidate for Congress in a red/purple district where it can be used to tie the GOP candidate DIRECTLY to Drumpf. Have the tag line be something like "Make America Great Again... in China".
It would be devastating.

(32,356 posts)... that I have ever seen, always has a union-made logo on it.
That would be an American union, made in the USA.

(50,453 posts)There are companies in the US that make banners. We get one to make the Democratic candidates banners. Then we get the company president to stand in front of one of our banners, holding one of Trumps, and discussing how he could have made Trump banners if our president actually cared about American jobs.

(10,742 posts)In the Reuters version of the story:
She (factory manager Yao Yuanyuan) says the buyers are located in both China and abroad and she doesnt know if they are affiliated with Trumps official campaign or the Republican Party.
Trumpers are jumping all over Newsweek for implying that the flags were ordered by the Trump campaign: "This is why they call it Fake News."
