The hosts of the "Dennis & Judi Show" on NJ 101.5 radio have been suspended indefinitely after they repeatedly referred to New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal, who is a Sikh, as "turban man" on air on Wednesday.
The radio station announced Dennis Malloy and Judi Franco, both longtime hosts on the talk radio station, were taken off the air from their 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
"We are aware of the offensive comments made by Dennis and Judi during Wednesday's broadcast," Ewing-based radio station WKXW said in a statement issued after midnight Thursday. "We have taken immediate action and have taken them off the air until further notice. We are investigating the matter and will have further comment shortly."
Grewal, the nation's first Sikh attorney general, was referred to as "turban man" and "the guy with the turban" as the hosts discussed his recent move to tell municipal prosecutors not to pursue charges for marijuana arrests.

These two idiots had an on-air discussion regarding whether or not this was offensive. Of course they concluded it wasn't. A little test of how far you can push bigotry on the airwaves.

(1,896 posts)They felt comfortable mocking the guy for not being a "normal" christian white guy and thought they were justified because they don't agree with his politics. Dangerous stuff. These two need to go.

I don't live in NJ anymore, but I still get there a few times a year. I caught these two idiots on the air a couple times and this is their daily fare.
Dennis reads and believes all "those" nonsense emails we all get from the Reich-wing's Noise and Rage Factory.
And Judi, whose voice sounds like she survives on whiskey and tobacco, once did a bit on "safe driving" that had me screaming at the radio. She talked - a lot - about the time she driving to work one morning after a wild night and doing a complete change of clothes from bra, panties, panty hose, skirt, top, then make-up, in the car, while driving, and smoking, and drinking coffee.
And 'ya just wonder - do they have an effing clue...?
