The U.S. trade deficit in goods widened to $68.3 billion in June, up 5.5% or $3.6 billion, according to the Commerce Department's advanced estimate released Thursday. The report is used by the government in producing the first estimate of GDP, which is released on Friday. Exports fell and imports grew in June. The report also showed flat readings of both wholesale and retail inventories.

of the U.S.? It seems all of his environmental, financial or military adjustments have been a disaster.

How many decades will it take to undo the damage the Republicans and Trump have exposed our country to in such a short period of time?

we really are never going to recover from this, because even if this county sees fit to punish the Rs and let Ds into power, it will only be a short while before the Rs gin up some bullshit and the country puts them back in charge again.

I was skeptical about things BEFORE 2006, when we got congress back, but 2010 pretty much ended any hope I had for the country, when after only FOUR YEARS, the put them back into power over throwing a fit over democrats passing THEIR GOD DARNED VERSION OF HEALTHCARE.

Nixon, Reagen, W ... Now 45. They just keep getting worse, getting away with more and the country just never stops indulging their lunacy.

11. America has and will always run huge trade deficits...the deal was we get to be the world's reserve

currency, and we run trade deficits financed by printing more of that sweet accepted by all paper. And inflation can be tamed despite the overheated printing presses. Sweet!

Not a bad deal actually, but too bad about the recessionary cycles that also go along with that.

Deficits matter, but not trade deficits so much.

Give up reserve currency status, the value of the dollar will plunge and that trade deficit goes way down...and inflation way up.
