NFL Places National-Anthem Gag Order on Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones
Source: The Daily Beast
The National Football League has told Jerry Jones he can no longer speak out about players police-brutality on-field protests during the playing of the national anthem, the Dallas Cowboys owner told several news outlets. Days earlier, Jones said his players would have to stand for the anthem, and Executive Vice President Stephen Jones, Jerrys son, implied players could be removed from the team if they dont comply. Reporter Mike Doocy said Cowboys staff told him he was not allowed to ask Jones about the national anthem. Doocy canceled his interview, but several reporters who interviewed Jones seemed to follow the rule. Jones, who donated $1 million to President Donald Trumps inauguration committee, has been outspoken on the issue. Players began kneeling during the national anthem in 2016 to protest racial inequality and police brutality.

(5,914 posts)I think he is obsessed with Brady because Brady is the ONLY NFL player who will openly confess to wanting to have anything to do with that bastard.

(24,223 posts)NFLPA with these illegal rules and punishments.
The Cowboys are potentially liable for legal reprisal and the NFL is distancing themselves from any future litigation by acting on Jones violation.

But I guess if in Texas and you field shit every year you have to find a way to draw fans.
He sure as hell wont be drawing too many politically minded Free Agents any time soon.

Charles Blow: "t is simply not healthy for the country to have a president stuck perpetually in attack mode, fighting enemies real and imagined, pushing a toxic agenda that mixes the exaltation of grievance and the grinding of axes."
