EU issues warning to European companies that comply with new US sanctions on Iran

Source: The Hill

The European Union (EU) is warning business that cut ties with Iran over new U.S. sanctions that those firms could face EU sanctions.

“If EU companies abide by U.S. secondary sanctions they will, in turn, be sanctioned by the EU," Nathalie Tocci, an aide to the EU’s foreign policy head, told BBC Radio 4 on Monday, according to NBC News.

Tocci said on the BBC that it was necessary to take those steps “in order to signal, diplomatically, to the Iranians that Europeans are serious" about the Iran nuclear agreement.

The EU said on Monday that it would “forbid” European entities from complying with the sanctions, as the U.S. reimposes measures previously lifted as part of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, which was signed by China, the EU, France, Germany, Iran, Russia, the U.K. and the U.S.

It won't work as we have little leverage since all the other signers of the Iran deal won't go along with his bluster.

I'm sure Russia and China will honor it, too.

The only one violating the agreement is the US. Anybody want to make a deal with us?

I am so tired of the G.O.P. bullying U.S.

The EU and NATO will have to lead the way because of our spineless leaders.

The G.O.P. encourages bone spurs.
