EMILY's List endorses James for NY attorney general

A national Democratic organization is siding with one of the candidates in the four-way primary for New York attorney general.
EMILY's List, which supports pro-choice Democratic women for political office, announced on Tuesday that it has endorsed New York City Public Advocate Letitia James for attorney general.
"Tish James is a fierce public advocate who has always had the back of every New Yorker, especially women," said Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILY's List. "She's ready to serve as the state's top law enforcement officer and protect consumers, working families and New York's most vulnerable."
James, who is also a former New York City councilwoman, entered the race for attorney after Eric Schneiderman's resignation. Schneiderman stepped down after multiple women accused him physical and verbal abuse.
