Trump: 'It's Very Sad What They've Done To Paul Manafort'
Source: Talking Points Memo
By Nicole Lafond | August 17, 2018 11:04 am
President Donald Trump on Friday expressed sympathy for his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort while a jury at a federal court in Virginia deliberates the case.
I dont talk about that now, Trump said from the South Lawn when asked an inaudible question about Manafort. I think the whole Manafort trial is very sad. When you look at whats going on there, I think its a very sad day for our country. He worked for me for a very short period of time. And you know what? He happens to be a very good person. I think its very sad what theyve done to Paul Manafort.
The jury is currently deliberating whether Manafort is guilty of financial fraud crimes related to his use of foreign bank accounts.

(5,810 posts)tRump really is a class A jerk and he just begs to be mocked. Let the mocking continue for it truly is an antidote to his daily madness. That and impeachment will be just what the doctor ordered for all of his victims. (Us!)

(9,114 posts)You can tell he's lying when he talks about love, compassion, beauty, goodness, etc.
All the hate, evil, attacks, ugly, that's when you can take him at his word.
Love to play poker against him. Let some air out of that overfull o farts orange balloon.
He's a clown, but not scary like those woods clowns or pennywise.

(5,810 posts)does not bring out the impeachment squad, mere opining on the treatment of Manafort (pre-verdict) wont raise an eyebrow with that crowd.

(989 posts)why wasn't the jury sequestered?

(9,874 posts)when they began deliberations. With the news of jury deliberations on every single news broadcast the chance of jurors being exposed to coverage should have been totally eliminated.

(11,885 posts)He's a career criminal who has gotten caught for his crimes , that should be a relief but not for trump , his close friend of 30 years plus. He's already projecting how unfairly he's being treated, FOR COMMITTING CRIMES! Only another criminal would do that, which trump is. trump has to con his supporters into believing a criminal shouldn't be punished. He ran a s a law and order candidate, but he is the opposite of that. He's the lawless and corrupt candidate where his friends and family and himself should be above the rule of law, but not for those that don't support him, they're guilty as hell, then should receive the harshest penalties. Manifort is a really , really bad guy , and trump supports him now, still. Hmmmmm.

(11,802 posts)I mean, all Manafort did was try to sell cabinet positions, avoid paying taxes, and defraud numerous banks. Who's not guilty of that? Sad indeed!

(12,586 posts)"He wasn't treated fairly," is the excuse he's used. Of course, that's "fair" as defined by Donnie Two Scoops, whose moral compass is stuck on "none."
