Trump warns 'blue wave' would bring 'crime and open borders'

Source: Politico

By STEPHANIE MURRAY 08/21/2018 07:43 AM EDT

President Donald Trump warned Tuesday that the so-called "blue wave" of Democratic victories forecasted by many for November's midterm elections would portend "crime and open borders," while a strong GOP showing would bring about "safety and strength."

Trump has long predicted that November's midterms will deliver a "red wave" of Republican victories, shielding or perhaps bolstering GOP majorities in both houses of Congress. The president's forecast goes against those of many political prognosticators, who have predicted a weaker year for Republicans, in part because the party in control of the White House often struggles in midterm elections and in part because of the president's poor poll numbers.

Still, the president has insisted that those predicting doom and gloom for the GOP are wrong, just as they were in the days and weeks leading up to the 2016 election, which he was widely expected to lose by a wide margin.

"A Blue Wave means Crime and Open Borders. A Red Wave means Safety and Strength!" Trump wrote on Twitter Tuesday.

He is projecting what his administration brings---crime. He and his administration are criminals. Of course he projects that others are the criminals instead of him.

that a party rolling in cash has the means if not the proven methods of waylaying "choke points" of vote tabulation that we've not fathomed yet. They just seem too sure of themselves. County operatives in small rural counties made no sense as an election strategy, yet they delivered margins from politically inactive legions of ordinary less-than-well-educated people. Humor me and ponder it a bit. There's something I'm not putting my finger on. How does it make sense to you? How would you explain it?

trope among members of his administration -- especially Condi Rice. They also made a point of saying, "chemical, biological and nuclear weapons," leaving the nukes lingering at the end of the list, even though they represented the least lethal of the group. Dubya and his minions knew that warning about a nuclear weapon would create the image of hydrogen bomb tests during the 50s, while the truth couldn't have been further away. A terrorist group would have used high explosives (HE) to blow up the device, which wouldn't cause the mushroom cloud but rather distribute a radioactive cloud in the immediate area.

Dubya's most egregious lie, however, was the way he sold the necessity of attacking a country which posed no immediate threat to the U.S. He would always say that Saddam Hussein sponsored terrorists, "just like those who attacked us on 9-11." What his audience heard was that Saddam was responsible for 9-11, which couldn't have been further from the truth. The gambit worked, and a sizable majority of people believed Hussein was directly responsible for the attacks, and thus Dubya started an illegal war which has resulted in thousands of American servicemen and women killed, five times that many suffering serious debilitating injuries, like multiple amputations, and tens of thousands of veterans with such severe mental trauma that the suicide rate among that group is three times the national average.

And that doesn't include the estimated 100,000+ Iraqis who died, the injured civilian casualties, including children, and the million refugees who fled the country in a desperate attempt to stay alive.

Now Trump has announced U.S. troops will not leave Iraq "until the job is done."

I remember here on DU all the warnings "The sky is falling. The sky is falling" and it was but you couldn't prove, even to the press, that this lying insanity was really true. Now, at least, the insanity is almost taken for granted.

need more crime. tRump and his administration, plus the gop have brought MORE than we need. Draining the treasury seems to be their main crime. No money for infrastructure, medical care, Medicaid, Social Security, yet plenty to give the filthy rich more tax breaks. The entire gop should be run out of office, along with this orange monstrosity.
