Candidates for Rep. Chris Collins' spot on ballot interviewed, timetable pushed back

BATAVIA, N.Y. (WIVB) - The field of potential candidates to replace Rep. Chris Collins on the ballot this November dropped by one on Tuesday, after David Bellavia backed out.

Republican leaders in the 27th Congressional District spent 30 minutes with each of the remaining candidates in Batavia.

The timetable for choosing a candidate has been pushed back- and there is still no indication which way they're leaning.

Throughout the entire process, nearly every one of those leaders said that the GOP field is filled with good, qualified candidates.

Unless something’s changes, it’s still virtually impossible to get Collins’ name off the ballot.
