Hunter rips 'new' DOJ: 'We're excited about going to trial'

Source: The Hill

BY JOHN BOWDEN - 08/22/18 12:05 PM EDT

California Rep. Duncan Hunter (R) says that he and his wife are "excited" to go to trial to prove their innocence, accusing the Justice Department of carrying out a "political agenda" in an interview.

Hunter told local California ABC affiliate 10News that the Justice Department, which is led by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, constitutes the "Democrats' arm of law enforcement."

He and his wife are accused of using campaign contributions for personal expenses totaling as much as $250,000. “We’re excited about going to trial with this, frankly,” Hunter said. “This is modern politics and modern media mixed in with law enforcement that has a political agenda. That’s the new Department of Justice.”

“This is the Democrats’ arm of law enforcement, that’s what’s happening right now," Hunter continued. "It’s happening with [President] Trump, it’s happening with me. We’re going to fight through it and win."

Their arrogance is past appalling. I hope to live see and hear the beautiful sound of the cell doors being slammed shut. They are only two examples of the depth of the corruption that has captured the soul and mind of the Republican Party. It is a cancer that has rotted the party to its very core. Every act and lie is accepted as justifiable to gain and hold office. It has become a enterprise with the same morality as that of the mafia. In fact, they have been so corrupted that their very actions and speech are identical to those of mob bosses and their underling thugs.

that she never had a chance to show off in public before.

The "Democrats' arm of Law enforcement"? Are there two arms of Law Enforcement?

I suppose he means that "Equal Justice under the Law" is the primary component of Democrat's version of the Law, and "Obey the Law when it's convenient, because IOKIYAR (i.e., It's OK If You're A Republican - and its corollary, It's OK If You Are Rich)" is the primary component of the Republican's version of the Law.

It's Not Fair! He's a Republican, he needs to be tried under the Republican arm of the Law...

I am sure they did all this to get a high of being indicted and going to trial...

Honey, what should we do for fun and excitement? Well, lets do some corrupt things, get indicted and have fun at a trial...

Hmmm...maybe there is a business there...want to put some fun in your life? we provide avenues for money laundering, campaign fraud, etc that will guarantee indictments, then you get to have fun trying to defend yourself, nothing spikes your life more than being in court trying to avoid years of jail time.

I've read that the campaign treasurer "warned" him many times about proper use of campaign funds, but why wasn't s/he charged as well? You don't file campaign expense reports without signing your name on the report. And I don't think that "well they lied to me" is much of an excuse when you really do know better.

Mr. and Ms. Hunter (R) currently are living with the parents as they had to sell their home. Lots of overdraft fees (over $30K on their bank account)…

This item is small, but says volumes about their level of scumbagginess....

"In March 2015, Hunter told his wife he wanted to buy "Hawaii shorts" but ran out of money, the indictment said. She told him he should buy them at a golf pro shop so they could later describe the purchase as "some (golf) balls for the wounded warriors," according to court documents."

Mr. Hunter, what party is the president from?

What party controls both houses of Congress?

What party does the Attorney General belong to?

Who nominated him to that position?

The FEC might be dysfunctional, but it is what it is. And, BTW, who appointed the current members of the Federal Election Commision? Hint: Not a Democrat.

Are you really that much of a fucking moron?

shithead. No one is excited about going to trail, even if they are innocent. It's time consuming and very, very expensive. What an incredibly stupid thing to say....then again, he is a Rethug.

Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III's Justice Department is the "Democrat's arm of law enforcement". That's rich.
