Rudy Giuliani: Impeaching Trump would mean 'people's revolt'
Source: Sky News
President's lawyer claimed there was "no reason" for impeachment and says Trump has been "vindicated" by Michael Cohen's account.

Thursday 23 August 2018
Donald Trump's lawyer has said "the American people would revolt" if the president was impeached.
In an interview with Sky News Rudy Giuliani claimed there was "no reason" for an impeachment and called Mr Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen "a liar".
"You could only impeach [Trump] for political reasons and the American people would revolt against that," he said.
Cohen admitted on Tuesday to paying hush money to a porn actress and a model at the request of a "candidate" - revealed by his lawyer to be Donald Trump - in order to influence the 2016 US election campaign.

(56,828 posts)that if we do survive this, we'll get new laws on the books that require:
1) Candidates release at least their last 10 years of tax returns, and any and all documentation related to past bankruptcies. Penalty is that they are denied access to the ballot.
2) Records related to divorces must be unsealed
3) FBI background check must be passed
4) Any holdings of the candidate and family must be put into a blind trust. Anything more complex than standard investments and personal property must be sold off to a non-related 3rd party.
5) A respected, neutral doctor must give a physical exam of the candidates and release at least a summary of the results
6) Return of the Fairness Doctrine

In a civilized nation no man can excuse his crime against the person or property of another by claiming that he, too, has been a victim of injustice. To tolerate that is to invite anarchy.
