Hunter protesters: 'Nobody is above the law'
Source: sandiego union tribune.
Dozens of protesters and about 10 TV cameras were waiting outside the federal courthouse Thursday, with protesters chanting Shame as they waited for Rep Duncan D. Hunter, R-Alpine, and his wife to appear for their arraignment on a 60-count indictment.
The group of demonstrators, organized by Indivisible San Diego, wore furry bunny ears and held signs that said Crooked Duncan and Ethics and Integrity Matter.
The bunny ears were a reference to one of the expenses Hunter incurred using campaign funds, $600 to fly a pet rabbit in the cabin of an airliner. He and his wife pleaded not guilty to charges that they spent $250,000 of campaign funds for personal benefit, something thats prohibited to guard against undue influence by donors.

"This day we all expected to come finally got here, said protester Kathy Stadler, 45, of San Diego. "It's not good it's incredibly sad but it shows the system may still be working. There are checks and balances, still."
