Akin’s Office: Rove’s Joke About Murdering Him Is ‘Deeply Disturbing’

Source: TPM

Rep. Todd Akin's office is not amused at Karl Rove's joke about murdering the Missouri Senate candidate, over his refusal to drop out of the race following his false comment about a woman's body being able to prevent pregnancy in cases of "legitimate rape."

“Given the current FBI investigation of threats against Congressman Akin and calls for acts of violence and rape against his family and staff, joking as to the potential murder of Congressman Akin is deeply disturbing," Akin's congressional press secretary Steve Taylor said in a statement Friday. "I am certain he misspoke.”

Akin may be the monkey wrench that sinks this entire campaign season. Karl Rove must be "displeased" to see 4 years of work flushed because one idiot won't get off the stage. Murder? I'm surprised Karl hasn't ordered a nuke yet!

I find it highly amusing, however, and I hope the trainwreck continues

Just like Humpty Dumpty

I'm sure it will continue. Every choice since Nitt decided to run has been the WRONG CHOICE!! Almost as if they want to lose. Or else--more sinister--they know they won't lose.

could gain an even wider Democratic majority. Since Rove has been up to his eyeballs in Super Pac meetings (and illegal coordination with the candidates) he is staking his reputation on this election. If he does not pull through with a GOP win somewhere, he is going to sound a lot like Newt in 1998 with his "At least we did not lose more than we lost" speech. And we know what happened to Newt.

Rove should really consider ditching Romney and the Tea Party. But he won't. He worked too hard with Scalia getting Citizens United. He needs to show that pouring an unlimited amount of money donated by assholes can help the GOP nominate candidates who have a snowball's chance in hell of winning. Except...

Asshole Super Pac donors select asshole candidates. Go figure.
